Protect Your Home

We’ve put together some tips on what to do should you have an accident or water incident of your own – as well as lots more to help keep your home in tip-top condition.

Home Flooded

If it’s safe to reach your mains, immediately turn off the electricity supply, then move valuables and essentials to secure places and ventilate the area well.

If the flooding came from white goods (washing machines, dish washers etc.), the water will be safe, but if it came from an outside source (drains) it could be dangerous to you and your family.

If there is only a small amount of water, simply lay towels down, try to absorb as much water as possible and then replace, turn the heating on to improve the drying process.

If there’s a lot of water, wait until it starts to recede before following the normal routine of pumping or brushing the excess water out, then using dehumidifiers to aid drying.
